Please note that this is a non-paid academic internship for students looking to complete the Program requirements.
The internship will commence in January or February with a minimum of 12 weeks.

IKEA is looking for a dynamic and motivated intern to join our team and help us drive our sustainable social impact initiatives forward. As a Sustainable social impact intern, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our 2.0. volunteering approach for our co-workers and will meet and connect with a lot of internal and external stakeholders.


Who you are:
- you are passionate about Sustainability and eager to contribute to a fairer and more equal planet by promoting to create a positive social impact.
- you are a research and development enthusiast; you are keen on researching and cataloging both current and innovative social stakeholder mappings.
- you are a collaborative team player. You are ready to join forces with dynamic colleagues of different departments. You like connecting to people proactively to build the right relationships and gather the needed information.
- you can work independently, take initiative, dare to ask questions and make mistakes. We love enthusiasm and positive energy; only the one who sleeps makes no mistakes
- you are an analytical problem solver. You know how to analyze data to drive decisions and improvements for example in stakeholder mapping.
- you are a creative thinker and like to brainstorm ideas and dare to give suggestions
- your values are reflected in the values of IKEA.
- you want to develop yourself and the IKEA business during an internship of minimum 12 weeks. A minimum of 2 days in the office in Zaventem will be required. You are willing and able to visit our eight stores for face-to-face meetings and information gathering (minimum 1 visit per store during the internship).
- You speak English (any other language is a plus).

Your responsibilities

What You’ll Be Working On:
• Stakeholder mapping, analyzing, and tracking
o Assess and document the current volunteering approach of each IKEA store.
o Learn and work on how to measure social impact
o Collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative feedback from Units.
• Work on a new volunteering approach based on the outcomes of our analyses
o Evaluate the new volunteering approach based on a pilot test
o Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
o Connect with both internal stakeholders (different units and departments) and external stakeholders (NGO’s, agencies, …) to develop the new volunteering approach
o Make a road map (timeline, content, …)
• Help in developing needed content and routines for a smooth transition in the new volunteering approach
