  • We are currently looking for a business partner to join the unit management team and lead the unit People and Culture team in Gwangmyeong.

    As a person you are passionate about people and dedicated to contributing to an engaging co-worker experience. You act as an ambassador for the IKEA culture and values and enjoy working with tactical and operational tasks in a vibrant and changing multi-dimensional environment.

    We see that you can have a background in HR with previous experience of working with influencing and steering the business on key topics in collaboration with management teams. If you have experience of leading projects as well as experience of translating strategies into concrete actions, it is an advantage. You speak and write both Korean and English fluently.
    What you'll be doing day to day
    In this role your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Implement the People plan for the store and ensure the HR principles, local policies, procedures and laws are followed on a store level.
    • Build and develop a robust relationship with the Market Manager and management team by playing an advisory role and providing specialist knowledge. Through business partnering, ensure they are well informed on all people topics such as performance, succession and confidential business matters.
    • Secure the store competence and development plan and influence Store Management team to continuously develop local leadership capabilities within their departments, to ensure IKEA meets our customers with knowledgeable and competent co-workers.
    • Secure a succession process and plan by influencing managers in taking the lead with focus on developing talents.
    • Lead and develop the store People and Culture team to provide an excellent Co-worker experience in new and innovative ways.

    To be considered for this role you must fulfil the following requirements:
    • 10 years minimum experience of progressive Human Resources and 3 years minimum experience as people manager
    • Strong knowledge of Korean labor law, the rights and obligations of co-workers and how to mediate the relationships between co-workers, employer and unions.
    • Experience identifying, assessing, promoting, and ensuring employee performance with regard to organizational and individual goals.
    • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
    • Stakeholder management: very good knowledge of how to identify and involve relevant stakeholders in a project, process or question to make things happen.

    In this role you will report to the Market Manager and the role is located in Gwangmyeong, South Korea. As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating schedule with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
