  • Who you are

As a Visual Merchandising co-worker, you present the IKEA range in the store. With strong visual impressions, you will continuously inspire and pleasantly surprise our customers, thereby strengthening the IKEA brand.

To successfully carry out these tasks, you can contribute the following competencies:

    • You are passionate about home furnishing and have a strong sense for colours, shapes, and materials. You enjoy working in a forward-thinking retail environment and positively shaping our customers’ shopping experience.
    • You have completed training as a 3D Polydesigner and/or have experience in trade fair construction or shop design, enabling you to work creatively and practically.
    • You are familiar with sketching tools, mood boards, power drills, and paint rollers, as well as the use of the design software REVIT or similar programs.
    • Good German skills and at least basic English skills to communicate with colleagues and understand our specific manuals. If you do not speak German, fluent English and the willingness to learn German within a short time are required.
    • You contribute excellent results in the store five days a week, Monday to Friday.

    Your responsibilities

    • Offering furnishing solutions around a product or combination of products that will inspire visitors and meet their furnishing needs.
    • Showing how the IKEA assortment is unique through your visual merchandising skills and strategies for displaying products in different media in the store and business areas to set us apart from the competition.
    • Making sure the store layout is used correctly to get a good overview of the products and visual impact to facilitate the buying process.
    • Working closely with the sales, logistics and partners involved: sharing knowledge while respecting each other's responsibilities, in order to present the range in the most attractive way for the customer.

    GOOD TO KNOW

We mentioned above that we want our co-workers to feel good.
And that also means saying “thank you”!

Here is our way of saying thank you:

    • 28 days of vacation (based on a 100% workload)
    • 20 weeks of paid parental leave for mothers, 8 weeks of paid parental leave for fathers
    • Highly attractive social benefits
    • 15% employee discount on your purchases – valid in every IKEA store
    • Commuting by public transport? We cover 85% to 100% of the annual public transportation pass
    • Free parking
    • Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning platform
    • Affordable and healthy meals in our staff restaurant (CHF 4.50 for meat dishes and CHF 3.50 for vegetarian dishes)
    • Bonus payments for all employees

At IKEA, there are many different ways to grow. We encourage and support our co-workers to try new roles, change functions, or even move abroad. Please submit your complete application online and note that we cannot accept documents by e-mail or post.

    That’s it from our side.
