Job Description 

About the assignment 

As Business Development Leader, you will ensure that we reach defined business objectives by holding together the development and transformation of capabilities and ways of working. You will focus on a prioritized cross organizational business movement where IKEA needs a breakthrough through new way to operate IKEA across the value chain. To do this, you lead by holding together and working with and through relevant stakeholders across the value chain to accomplish defined objectives and key results. Right now, we are looking for a Business Development leader who will hold together the transformation for how we operate Food business as a natural part of the total IKEA range offer. 

As a Business Development Leader, you will: 

  • Hold together and drive strategically prioritized business development initiatives with a distinct end-to-end focus, ensuring that the expected benefit is in line with the vision, business idea, direction, and strategies of IKEA.  

  • Responsible to together with relevant stakeholders define objectives, key results, business benefits and risks for defined business development initiatives through fact-based analysis. 

  • Secure that the scope and frame is clearly defined and ensure commitment, common direction and anchoring with all relevant stakeholders and decision forums across the value chain. 

  • Work closely with and through Capability areas to ensure that needed capability development is executed to enable movement objectives. 

  • Monitor progress and manage interdependencies between development initiatives to ensure optimal value creation over time. Do this in co-leadership with Roadmap and Planning leaders.  

  • Secure organizational readiness in business ownership and change management, securing short-term value creation and long-term objectives.

You are a strong businessperson with a passion for business collaborating and interacting with different stakeholders. 

You have proven experience and knowledge in and great passion for: 

  • Leading by example and having the ability to bring out the best in your colleagues and the different partners and organizations you collaborate with.  

  • Holistic IKEA value chain operations and mindset  

  • Leading and implementing movements in a global context  

  • Project and Change management. 

  • Identifying and capturing business opportunities and delivering results with a high sense of urgency. 

  • How to act as an ambassador of IKEA values.
