  • Who you are

You know that a brand voice is more than words on a page. It’s how people recognise, trust and connect with a brand. We believe that you are the person others turn to when they’re not sure if something sounds like IKEA. You don’t just apply a Tone of Voice, you shape it, strengthen it and help others bring it to life. With a passion for simplicity, collaboration and continuous improvement, you’re excited to lead the future of IKEA communication across markets, channels and AI-powered ways of working.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

    • 7+ years in corporate copywriting, with a track record of shaping and evolving a brand voice, not just applying one.
    • Proven ability to build communication capability in others: a training programme, a style guide you authored, a coaching relationship that changed how someone writes. Tell us about one.
    • Comfort simplifying complex, sensitive, or corporate information into something a stressed co-worker or a first-time customer could read in one pass.
    • Hands-on experience working with AI writing tools, not just using them, but reviewing, correcting, and improving their output at scale.
    • A collaborator's instinct: you'd rather raise the standard of a whole team than be the sole guardian of good copy.
    • Curious, humble, and comfortable challenging a stakeholder's first draft, kindly and clearly, with simplicity in mind.
    • IKEA experience is preferred

What you'll be doing day to day

In this role, you'll help define and strengthen the IKEA Tone of Voice across the business. As our go-to expert, you'll combine hands-on writing across business campaigns and initiatives with coaching and guidance, helping communicators, leaders, and markets create communication that's clear, human, and unmistakably IKEA.

    More specifically, you will:

    • Support initiatives across the comms calendar. Focus on report writing, ESG, strategy activations and corporate communications. Also contribute to press releases, spokespeople messaging and global campaigns.
    • Write and safeguard the voice. Produce and showcase communication that is honest, simple, conversational, warm and occasionally playful. The way IKEA has always sounded, adapted for how people communicate today.
    • Build a network, not just a portfolio. Lead the IKEA tone of voice expertise network with Folkskolan for People and AI and Inter IKEA Concept functions. Help Ingka communicators and leaders to write and speak with the IKEA voice on their own, so quality doesn't depend on routing everything through one desk.
    • Coach leaders and spokespeople. Support people who didn't train as writers sound confidently, unmistakably IKEA in speeches, interviews and Q&As, without sounding scripted.
    • Train and steer AI tools. Shape prompts, guardrails and feedback loops so AI-assisted drafting reflects the brand voice by default, not as an afterthought fixed in editing.
    • Keep the voice current. Track how language and platforms change and adapt the IKEA tone of voice guidance without losing what makes it recognisable.

This role will report to the Communication Production Manager within Group Communication.

    Questions and support? Let's connect!

When applying, please upload your CV and motivational letter. We’d also love to see examples of your previous work. Don’t worry if it isn’t a polished portfolio. We’re more interested in seeing how you think, shape messages and bring a brand voice to life. Last day for application is September 17th.

Candidates from Ingka Group will be given priority consideration in this recruitment process.

Studies show that members of underrepresented communities do not apply for jobs unless they are 100% “qualified”. If this is part of the reason you hesitate to apply, we would like to consider and give it a chance. Maybe your profile fits our needs much better than you think. We look forward to receiving your application.
