Additional information:
• This role is Permanent, Full-time 76hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this role is Silo Technician
• The availability requirements for this role are between 6am to 4pm, weekdays Monday to • Friday and alternating weekend (Saturday) shifts.
• This role is based on site at IKEA Distribution Centre, Marsden Park NSW.
About this work area
As Facilities Technician your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of all facilities and equipment such as forklifts, conveyers and auto storage facilities within the Distribution Centre, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implementing regular preventive maintenance to maintain optimal equipment functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any abnormalities or incidents.
• Taking immediate corrective actions and preventive measures for issues identified during inspections.
• Coordinating and supervising external service providers, ensuring high-quality work that meets IKEA standards and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in all locations within the Distribution Centre.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Silo System performance and efficiency.
• Proactively contribute to the IKEA sustainability agenda through all Facilities related activities.
As Facilities Technician you are or have:
• Extensive experience in Facilities Management, ideally with exposure to Automatic Storage Retrieval Systems or a similar field.
• A strong commitment to safety and comfort working at heights.
• A passion for sustainability and a drive to contribute to IKEA's goals in this area.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with external partners.
• Collaborative by nature, always seeking out best practices and sharing it with others.
• Driven to identify opportunities and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
• The ability to work autonomously, take initiative and possess excellent communication skills to deliver set tasks with a sense of urgency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (including Excel) and facilities management software, along with strong organisational and administrative skills.
