We’re looking for someone who can lead our logistics team to new heights. As our first Fulfilment Operations Manager for IKEA Sylvia Park, New Zealand, you and your team secure a seamless omnichannel experience for the many people, steering our fulfilment operations to success.

We’re looking for someone to lead, inspire and share with the team their passion for IKEA products; someone who is driven to secure an outstanding customer shopping experience by securing stock availability, excellence in operations & driving customer fulfilment services in IKEA New Zealand.



You have a strong understanding of key performance measurements for business planning and monitoring. You have expertise in retail logistics dynamics and influencing factors. You are driven to develop business strategies and consistently deliver results. You demonstrate effective collaboration and co-creation skills fostering an environment of teamwork and innovation. You are proficient in working methods, performance monitoring and influencing factors that ensure operational excellence in Fulfilment Operations, collaborating effectively with stakeholders. You have an extensive understanding of end-to-end supply chains alongside supply chain methods, policies, and requirements. You are passionate about safety in the workplace and understand all relevant standard operating procedures for Customer Fulfilment, prioritizing the safety of co-workers and customers. You have competence in resource planning aligned with potential sales scenarios, forecasts, and fulfilment flow allocation. With proven ability to coordinate, liaise and communicate with stakeholders effectively while driving the end-to-end functions within fulfilment operations. You have previous experience demonstrating strong leadership skills and the initiative to coach diverse teams. With the passion to lead with integrity and authenticity, championing IKEA’s values and encouraging your team to embody these principles in their daily work.

About this work area

Fulfilment operations department secure and execute the excellence in end-to-end operation with a unit including inbound & outbound, in-house replenishment, picking and service execution.

As ​Fulfilment Operations Manager​ your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing improvements, new processes, technologies, and ways of working to enhance the customer and co-worker experience.
• Fostering close cooperation and strong communication with the Fulfilment Integration team and key stakeholders such as Unit management, support functions, and External Transport/Service Providers to maximise goods availability and customer order fulfilment efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with IKEA code of conduct, Standard Operating Procedures, internal regulations, and local legislation related to health, safety & security within the Fulfilment Operations team.
• Lead, coach, and developing a high-performing Fulfilment Operations team, cultivating communication, flexibility, and inclusivity.
• Placing a strong emphasis on nurturing co-worker well-being and managing co-worker performance, competence development and succession planning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to cost-consciousness, effectively managing resources and operational expenses to maximise efficiency and drive profitability in fulfilment operations.

A little more about the job 

We may be experts in home furnishing, but it is your expertise in the following we are looking for:
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Warehouse Manager or equivalent supply chain or logistics role. With at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• You are committed to IKEA New Zealand in this role for 3 - 5 years.
• Robust experience in and in-depth understanding of logistics & supply chain management in a dynamic omnichannel retail environment.
• Excellent communication skills, and ability to inspire, coach and develop people and secure succession to bring together a high performing team that can contribute to business goals. 
• Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace. 


What you need to know

• This role is ​permanent full time, 80 hours per/fortnight.​
• The internal job title for this role is ​Fulfilment Operations Manager.​
• The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 New Zealand dollars.
• The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park and external warehouse.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
