Job description
Purpose of the job:
The purpose of the position of Events Specialist PR & Communication is to connect IKEA with the local community with the most amazing events in the country and make them the talk of town to strengthen IKEA’s brand visibility, brand positioning, and brand attachment.
Key assignments:
- Contribute to creating and executing amazing and unique events that keep the IKEA brand visible all year round with the objective of enhancing the brand recognition and maintaining a strong market presence by consistently engaging with the community through memorable communication and PR of the events.
- Create, Implement, coordinate, and follow up on the PR & Communication Plan of the yearly Brand Events with the objective of delivering brand visibility and brand attachment, through uniqueness, relevance, and innovation, maximizing resources, and creating long-term relationships with the community.
- Implement key PR & Communication elements of any event in a creative and high-quality manner with the goal of delivering a seamless and engaging experience for attendees by paying attention to every detail, securing the creation of interest and coverage that generate brand visibility and brand love.
- Collaborate with other business areas, engaging them in the event preparation process, and securing a smooth and integrated approach by involving relevant departments, especially Marketing & Communication, Coworkers Communication, Commercial, and IKEA Food.
- Coordinate communication and PR with external partners to ensure the consistency, success, and visibility of the events.
- Collect, and share feedback and learnings from events to incorporate them in future plans to secure continuous improvement and innovation in event planning.
- Find options to collaborate with third parties, including Public Authorities, NGOs, Civil Associations, and private companies that share interests and values with IKEA.
Qualification
- Background in marketing and/or communication, either through a degree or practical experience of at least 3-5 years.
- Demonstrated capability in planning, organizing, and executing successful events making use of management principles and practices bringing innovative and creative solutions.
- Proven background in engaging and building relationships with customers and partners providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Strong networking skills to build and maintain relationships with external partners.
- Language Skills: Spoken & Written Arabic is a must. French language skills as a plus.
- Ability to execute creative and high-quality PR & Communication Plans.
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Autonomous and proactive.
- Incredibly meticulous with attention to detail.
- Excellent networking and customer service skills.
- Understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural contexts.
- Familiarity with event management principles and practices.
