IKEA Supply Turkey (ISTR) is a member of the Inter IKEA Group within Supply. ISTR’s main task is to supply IKEA Home Furnishing products to specific IKEA franchisee in Türkiye.

We are currently looking for an Accountant in our Finance team, based in Istanbul.

As an Accountant, you secure proper and efficient accounting and reporting for the Wholesale TR business at the given quality level keeping all deadlines.

Your tasks will include:

Accounting

  • Participating in the operational accounting process
  • Ensuring that all general ledger transactions are posted completely, accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for correctly applying Local Accounting Rules & Inter IKEA Rules on accounting and financial reporting
  • Support for all accounting tasks, period reporting and closing activities
  • Responsible for bank and AP-AR reconciliation
  • Responsible for intercompany reconciliation with the other Inter IKEA companies
  • Preparing and providing reports to the Tax and other authorities and keeping the necessary mailing and filing
  • Assist with internal & external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.
  • Ad-hoc tasks related to bookkeeping and accounting areas
  • Being a speaking partner for various stakeholders
  • Maintain strong relation with relevant Inter IKEA departments.

Reporting

  • Local statutory reporting
  • Group reporting according to Inter IKEA Rules/Standards and deadlines

Projects & Support

  • Support the accounting department in the digitalization projects (e.g. ERP implementation) as well as in other accounting/reporting related projects

Qualification

We believe that you are a person who take the lead and drive your area of responsibility and interacting with people comes very natural to you. You are self-reliant and motivated to be a part of the development of IKEA and like to work efficiently and with continuous improvements.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or equivalent business background is required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in accounting/reporting and at least 3 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in an international company
  • Good knowledge of Turkish GAAP, Tax and Accounting requirements.
  • Good knowledge of e-invoice, e-ledger, e-dispatch note processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with any Accounting Software
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Turkish languages
  • Good communication skills and team player attitude
  • Ability to investigative and being detail oriented.
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills and co-operate with others to achieve common goals.
