Additional information:
• This role is ​temporary, full-time 76 hours per/fortnight, contract ends February 2026. ​
• The preferred location for the role is Service Office, Tempe, NSW, where hybrid working including a minimum of 3 days in the Service Office is required.
• The internal job title for this position is Online Merchandising Specialist.
•As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
• If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check.

About this work area

As ​Online User Experience Specialist​ your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Driving the creation of the customer journey & customer experience online for our New Zealand Customers.
• Responsible for creating the navigation, naming conventions, search functions, planning page flow and design of page layouts, A/B testing for certain content on the IKEA New Zealand website once the website is live.
• Work closely with global counterparts in different time zones to take the best learnings and apply them to IKEA NZ.
• Work closely with key stakeholders in and outside Commercial Team & Commercial Project Team to secure integration, common focus and maximise impact to drive E-commerce growth and business results.
• Responsible for planning and optimizing the layout of product listing pages and to show the width and depth the IKEA range to support the seasonality and commercial priorities while simplifying the buying process.
• Applying knowledge of the living situation of the consumers and the changes in shopping behaviour which could impact the range presentation;
• Continuously monitor the market and competitors, identifying new range presentation techniques and features in order to translate them into commercially viable implementations.



As ​Online User Experience Specialist (New Zealand Project)​ you are/have:
• Passionate about people, business and driving better performance to deliver a seamless omnichannel customer journey into the New Zealand Market..
• A comprehensive understanding of life at home for New Zealander and home furnishing trends to ensure our online visitors have the best user experience when browsing and shopping the IKEA range across different digital touchpoints.
• Driven to maximise online user experience performance by identifying opportunities, analysing customer behaviour, and monitoring market trends.
• Strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders by providing data driven insights and optimisation techniques to deliver great content for IKEA’s online platform.
• You will also have a strong understanding of visual and digital communication to drive customer engagement.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
• Experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) programs.
• Proven experience in driving customer journey and user experience (UX) initiatives.
• Proficiency in managing navigation and search functions, including the use of local terminology and synonyms.
• Experience in creating wireframes and designing page layouts.
• Proficiency in A/B testing tools such as Optimizely and ContentSquare.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and visualization tools
• Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence

The following experience is preferred, however not essential:
• Basic understanding of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is preferred but not essential.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics tools like Google Analytics (GA4) or Adobe Analytics.
