Do you want to kick-start your career and join our Master Thesis Programme in Group Digital at Ingka? Are you excited about new technology, innovative ways of working and want to be part of shaping the future of IKEA? We are super excited to start the Master Thesis Programme for the second time around and to invite students to do their Master Thesis with us! The Master Thesis Programme will kick off in mid-January 2024 and although each thesis will be written individually, or in pairs, the Master Thesis Programme does come with common activities to get to know Ingka better and build a network with other students enrolled in the Programme doing thesis work across different parts of Group Digital in Europe. We are looking for you who is currently a student at the university or any similar higher education within digital and are about to write your thesis spring of 2024. You need to be a Swedish resident and connected to a university in the country.

The assignment:
Analysing Business and Implementation Flows in Retail E-Commerce through AI-Driven Order Management Systems: A Case Study -2 students
Our team is providing digital support for IKEA.com customers post purchase journey. We focus on order inquiries, status updates, purchase details, cancellations, delivery adjustments, and assembly service requests, making it the most visited go-to resource for our customers.
The primary focus will be on order management systems within the context of retail e-commerce operations, particularly with regards to the post-purchase customer journey, encompassing order processing. The research should explore the practical implementation of an AI-driven Order Management System in a real-world retail e-commerce environment. The objective is to identify how an AI-driven OMS can enhance the customer experience on the e-commerce platform and to assess its effectiveness in improving post-purchase documentation and flows, including order history, return processes, and customer feedback. Our ultimate objective is to develop a functional Proof of Concept (POC) supported by rigorous scientific data and in-depth analysis.
Also to streamline the Purchase history Data flow diagram while understanding the integrations and backend APIs.
We believe you are a student currently in computer science or a related field with proficiency in programming, data analysis, and natural language processing. You possess strong research and communication skills for evaluating AI and NLP methods. Ethical awareness is important to you, and you have a keen interest in enhancing post-purchase user engagement through AI.
