    As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you’ll oversee and deliver construction projects across the UK IE cluster, ensuring our properties meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a team of Construction Project Managers, working on large-scale retail projects that enhance IKEA’s presence and improve the customer experience.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:


    • Experience: Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with 8+ years in construction project management within retail, commercial, or large-scale developments.
    • Skills: Ability to develop and motivate teams while managing multiple stakeholders.
    • Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of construction management, procurement, budget control, contract negotiations, and risk management.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with UK construction laws, permitting processes, and HSE regulations.
    • Experience with BREEAM, IWAY, or other sustainable building certifications/ compliance
    • Project Delivery Track Record: Capable of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
    • Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Retail Construction Experience: Experience within the retail sector.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO DAY TO DAY:


    • Lead Projects: Manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable solutions.
    • Optimize Delivery: Work with designers, contractors, and procurement teams to enhance cost efficiency and innovation.
    • Strategize: Develop and implement strategies for budgeting, risk management, procurement, and scheduling.
    • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and sustainability standards, including IWAY and BREEAM.
    • Manage Budgets: Oversee budgets, schedules, and cost control to ensure projects are completed on time and within financial targets.
    • Negotiate Contracts: Handle contract negotiations and supplier relationships to protect IKEA’s best interests.
    • Mentor Teams: Mentor a team of Construction Project Managers, creating a culture of growth, collaboration, and IKEA values.
    • Smooth Handovers: Ensure seamless project handovers to retail and tenant fit-out teams for operational readiness.



    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:


    This position is full time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    The role of Senior Construction Project Manager will offer a starting salary from £78,000.00 the full IKEA Benefits package.
