The main responsibility areas in the Retail Concept Operations (RCO) following the new Inter IKEA operating model are
· Retail processes End-to-End
· Digital capability areas
· IKEA.com and IKEA.net channels
· ROSS
The job as a Data & Information modeler is an assignment within the MyLearning product within the Digital Capability area in Retail Concept Operations and is one of the four focus areas.
About you
You believe that creating great digital products means they are fit for purpose and software engineering is a means for supporting the business. You have experience in the aspects of data from strategy, data modeling, ETL tools, data analytics, and data reporting. You are used to working together with software engineers and other tech resources regarding data and you are curious to learn new things. As this job is a Data & Information modeler job in the digital capability area, you have an interest in the IKEA concept, learning solutions, and how knowledgeable co-workers make a difference in the IKEA business.
In addition, we think that you:
· Minimum 5-7 years of data modeling and data analytic experience in a comparable position
· Master's degree or similar/higher qualifications in statistics, physics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related
· Experience as a project member in agile project environments and methodologies as well as in running business activities
· Experience in collaboration and communication with other parts of the organization to understand the needs of stakeholders and devise possible solutions.
· Have extensive experience in data model design, implementation, optimization, and documentation in a complex data landscape
· Have proficiency with data modeling techniques and concepts as well as distributed technologies and graph databases.
· You have the ability to explain the benefits of data & information models to non-technical and technical stakeholders.
· You have the ability to determine large and small data & information model opportunities and support MyLearning team with data and analytics.
· You are eager to take initiative and drive to achieve results with people.
· You have a growth mindset: curious to explore, eager to learn and find better ways, as well as energized by sharing.
· You are committed to the users and customers with the energy to champion their need
· You have good analytical skills combined with being structured and organized.
As Data and Information Modeler, you will
· Lead data product initiatives within the Learning domain, shaping strategies for analytics, reporting, and insights.
· Manage and oversee as an expert the learning analytics dashboard products, ensuring they meet business needs and enhance learning data utilization across the IKEA ecosystem.
· Build and maintain scalable, modular semantic models and visualizations, integrating advanced features like calculation groups, dynamic filtering, and natural language queries using Power BI tooling
· Advise and support on managing complex data pipelines and transformations in Databricks, ensuring high data quality and automation through Unity Catalog and the data catalog
· Act as the bridge between technical teams and business users, simplifying technical concepts and delivering actionable insights for various audiences.
· Create and deliver presentations, training sessions, and user support materials to improve data literacy and self-service analytics adoption.
· Redefine and implement key metrics, such as Reach, Active Users, and Co-worker Engagement, for accurate and actionable insights
· Collaborate with AI teams to explore innovative solutions like natural language processing and predictive analytics for learning data
· Drive data-driven transformations, including transitioning users to new reporting environments and ensuring seamless adoption of improved tools and features.
· Guide team members in data analytics best practices, knowledge sharing, and fostering a collaborative, innovative work culture.
· Support teams to re-use work done and existing models from a consistency and efficiency point of view.
· Support a culture of data-driven decision-making within the MyLearning area and across IKEA organizations.
· Work closely together with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, peers, and other relevant roles across IKEA as well as in your team.
More Information
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is located in Delft, Netherlands. Some travel will be required. In this role, you will be reporting to the Software Engineering Manager.
