Additional Information:
• This role is Permanent, Part-time 40hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this role is IKEA Food Co-worker.
• The shift times required to work will be spread between 7:00am to 9:30pm.
• As we operate 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts.
• You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
RECRUITMENT PROCESS AND KEY DATES
• We require adequate availability, without holidays booked, during the peak trading period (from December to March) for this role.
• If your application is successful, you may be invited to complete a video screening interview as part of the recruitment process.
• If your application is progressed, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview with the hiring team.
• If successful your contract will be starting from Monday 9th December 2024.
About this work area
As a Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with food safety standards.
• Prepare and cook food with a focus on safety, minimising waste, and adhering to production levels and cooking methods.
• Inspect food items for freshness and quality, ensuring the highest standards.
• Implement corrective actions to ensure consistency in food preparation.
• Efficiently manage cooking timelines and multi-task during peak service hours to ensure timely delivery of meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens and induction cooktops, with precision and care.
• Engage in active selling, provide exceptional customer service, and handle cash transactions.
• Ensure the dishwashing area and equipment are maintained, contributing to the cleanliness of both the Customer restaurant and Co-worker restaurant (staff cafeteria).
As a Food Co-worker, you are or have:
• A genuine passion for food and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality dishes with attention to presentation.
• Proven experience working in a dynamic, hands-on, fast-paced environment. Prior experience in hospitality or cookery is highly regarded.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• The ability to strictly adhere to IKEA Food and HACCP policies, including daily quality checks, temperature controls, and operational routines.
• Previous commercial cooking experience is a plus, with a focus on consistency and quality.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under pressure, especially during rush periods.
