Job description
The Intelligence Automation Centre of Excellence has the assignment to create value by providing automation solutions and simplify the life of our IKEA co-worker, working hand in hand with the business and product teams.
This role includes essential duties and responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership and Strategy:
- Provide expertise and strategic direction in cognitive automation technologies and AI for intelligent automation.
- Lead initiatives focused on integrating AI into automation solutions and stay current with technology trends.
- Solution Architecture and Framework:
- Evaluate intelligent automation solutions, including AI technologies, to identify the best fit for business processes.
- Create architectural blueprints, develop and own solution design documents, and define the technical framework considering security, compliance, and integration requirements.
- Development and Best Practices:
- Develop best practices around intelligent automation, drive the creation of reusable components, and provide technical guidance and support for automation solutions.
- Mentor development teams in best practices and advanced technologies.
- Cloud and Infrastructure:
- Build complex, highly available cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Ensure a good understanding and application of traditional infrastructure concepts like connectivity, architecture, and security.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across business units, including leaders, teams, and third-party vendors.
- Collaborate closely with the Innovation team during the exploration phase of intelligent automation technologies, acting as a liaison to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
In this role you will report to our Intelligent Automation Service Area manager in Data & Technology at IKEA Supply.

We’re doing some amazing things in IKEA Supply; therefore, we need some amazing people – this position is not an exception.
To be successful in this role, we believe you MUST have:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in Intelligent Automation technologies as an architect.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid experience in architecture concepts and modern development techniques such as Agile and DevOps.
- In-depth knowledge in automation domains including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Conversational Automation, Cloud Services (Azure preferred), User Interface Design, and AI for Intelligent Automation with a strong focus on cognitive automation technologies.
- Hands-on experience with tools like UiPath, Intelligent Document Processing, and Power Platform.
- Expertise in software development life cycle phases including design, configuration, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Good knowledge of traditional infrastructure concepts like connectivity, architecture, and security.
- Experience working with programming languages (C# preferred) and a good understanding of development concepts and supporting tools such as Git, Visual Studio, Jira, and working with REST APIs.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale automation projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You should also be able to make advanced technical solutions understood and embraced by both technical and non-technical co-workers.
