Job description
Overview of the role
To assist Regional Food commercial manager in securing a commercial and operational IKEA Food strategy that meets quality, food safety, environmental requirements.
Work together with the stores Food teams and other colleagues in the IKEA Food SO team to drive the importance of Food to attract, engage and drive visitation and customer satisfaction as well as optimize sales, gross margin, and profit to enable for extraordinary growth.
To strengthen food commercial competence and lead activities to address key gaps of food commercial and sales performance, effectiveness, and efficiency.
What you will do
Customers
- Lead and develop a mechanism in place to ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile, meet, and serve our guests showing empathy and care. Proactively set plans to ensure actions are taken into consideration based on the IKEA values
- Always look at the Restaurants and Food areas through the eyes of our customers and walk the stores regularly. Have a frequent dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants, then act based on their input
- Empower and encourage IKEA Restaurant Managers and Co-workers to take immediate action to meet the needs of guests and give input on how to continuously improve our standards
- Responsible of consolidating and updating the services/products offered in our stores and use this knowledge to help guests
Commercial
- Responsible for integration of food into activity commercial calendar by working closely with stakeholders in and outside Commercial team
- Plan, conduct and follow-up commercial performance and review as well as act upon them to ensure performance excellence throughout the year
- Implement common food commercial framework and KPI’s adapting to local legislation and laws
- Lead food experience improvements and food innovation
Steering the business
- Work actively to make the IKEA Food department successful and high performing, today and tomorrow, by attracting visitors, achieving sales growth and reasonable profitability, ensuring the satisfaction of customers and co-workers, and excellent operational performance as. measured through our defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as ATV, items per basket
- Control overall operating costs without jeopardizing the service level to the customer and food safety standards.
- Utilise relevant reporting tools, such as Navision, the Functional Commercial Review, IKEA Customer Satisfaction Survey and Growing together, to develop the IKEA business, himself, and his team
- Monitor and challenge costs at a regional level by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way using and sharing good examples and encouraging the Store Food Mangers to explore smarter ways of working
Operations
- Utilize relevant tools such as Profit & Loss, KPI-report, Operational Review, Pulse CX, and Voice in order to develop the business, yourself and your team.
- To ensure a safe working environment for co-workers and customers in accordance with all local health and safety regulations and HACCP standards in conjunction with Country food Safety leader
- You implement the IKEA FOOD concept to increase the sales of IKEA home furnishing products and support the IKEA position as the leading home furnishings company.
- Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond to secure integration
- Be an active player in driving an open and sharing climate, be a role model of the company values
- Be an active player in working on sustainability within food (sourcing of local ingredients, circularity in production, usage of sustainable materials and services

What equips you for the role
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years food commercial marketing experience, preferably in a high-volume business
- Must have an interest and knowledge of culinary or food service industry
- Must have a strong customer focus
- Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced, and constantly changing retail environment
