Inter IKEA Systems B.V. is the worldwide IKEA franchisor, with 12 different groups of companies operating IKEA stores and other IKEA sales channels in over 60 different countries across the world, under franchise agreements with Inter IKEA Systems. The Legal & Governance team at Inter IKEA Systems has a full range of legal responsibilities including certain group tasks and consists of around twenty-five legal professionals of many different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and legal expertise areas. The team works closely together with legal functions in IKEA Range and IKEA Supply.

We are strengthening our Legal & Governance team and therefore we are seeking a Paralegal Corporate based in Delft, The Netherlands, but this role will provide support across the Inter IKEA Group.

The Paralegal will provide the (corporate) legal team and business stakeholders with high-quality legal support and act as sparring partner to protect and grow the business with the main focus on corporate law related matters, M&A/investments and contracts.


Job description

This role will support with the corporate housekeeping of the Inter IKEA Group legal entities, with a focus on the legal entities that are connected to the franchise business. This includes the preparation and drafting of shareholder and board resolutions, minutes, powers of attorneys etc. You are responsible for (the data captured in) the corporate legal entity database, incl. the maintenance, filing in and updating of the database and acting as first point of contact. As a Paralegal Corporate you will also be responsible for collating and maintaining corporate structure charts, overviews and the claims & litigation report. Besides that you are supporting the Corporate Legal Manager and the other four team members within the Corporate Legal Team on the drafting and implementation of various corporate policies/process descriptions/steering documents/working methods and initiatives within legal operations, for example corporate digitalization projects. You will also support in the development and delivery of long term plans for the legal & governance function. A very dynamic position with a broad scope.

About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic Corporate Paralegal that has an overall, in-depth knowledge in the area of Dutch Corporate Law. You are very good in building relationships and you enjoy being a flexible and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast pace and transforming environment. You know how to prioritize and you have a hands-on, self-starting approach and the ability to lead and coordinate corporate processes, tasks and actions in an accurate, efficient and transparent way. Besides that, you also have:

  • University Degree in Dutch Law (preferably Dutch corporate law) with outstanding achievements.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a corporate paralegal in an international legal or business environment.
  • The necessary communication and social skills to cope with the different levels, positions and needs within the organization.
  • Strong documentary and administrative skills.
  • Ability to organise and coordinate efficiently and effectively.
  • The ability to create trust, build strong networks and relationships by being a team player who embraces collaboration with cross-functional teams in a diverse global business.
  • You are an enthusiastic self-starter who is driven and committed to deliver results.

For this role you need to be fluent in Dutch and English.
