Job description

As a Quality Specialist, you will be a part of the Quality & Sustainability Team. You will lead projects and support business teams in extra ordinary situations to secure products are delivered with right performance. Your role will be to train and verify compliance to ways of working according to purchasing manual and contribute in developing and improving working methods in the engineering/quality field. You will work not only in India, but also travel to other suppliers located in South Asia.

You will also perform:

  • Lead Gate Check before first delivery and secure four eyes’ principles.
  • Plan and perform audits according to Manage IKEA quality GO/NOGO standard working instruction.
  • Based on audit result, support the business teams and suppliers in implementing the containment and corrective actions.
  • Lead, by category appointed, projects with support from business team in case of quality deviations to support problem identification including root cause analysis and come to resolution.
  • Coach and train business teams and suppliers in the IKEA quality GO/NOGO standard as well as in utilization of problem-solving tools (5 why, root cause analysis, etc.) in the daily work and specifically related to quality deviations.
  • Lead global/local projects related to quality.
  • Support the development and implementation of common working methods and tools locally as well as globally for the Engineering & Quality matrix
  • Support introduction of new co-workers in Supply Area for common working methods and tools
  • Perform audits and assessments of internal working methods and processes according to the quality part in purchasing manual.
  • At any time, act as an ambassador of IKEA values and role model for fact-based business leadership.

Qualification

To be successful in this role, you need to have:

  • Experience from quality management in a production environment
  • Experience in leading project (e.g. with a six sigma/lean approach)
  • Ability to deliver results through involving, leading and inspiring people
  • Ability to communicate in an inspiring and simple way to engage co-workers, business teams and suppliers
  • Knowledge about relevant quality standards, production technologies and materials
  • Knowledge of Project management tools and methodology
  • Knowledge of different problem-solving tools as 5 why, FMEA, fish bone, root cause analysis
  • Be fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, experience of formal/informal leadership (business and people) and cooperating with teams.
  • Passionate and capability to lead/facilitate assignments/projects across organization
  • Proven record of consistently meeting/exceeding results in developing business
  • Ability to combine both short-term and long-term and view in complex environment and to balance between keeping a good overview and paying good attention to details.
