You have a highly developed ability to analyse complex data and deliver the information to stakeholders in a simple format that is easy to understand. You are driven to improve current ways of working to enable successful outcomes for customers, co-workers, and the business. You have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and remain calm and agile in the face of changing business priorities. You have extensive knowledge in forecasting, scheduling, budget adherence and reporting within a workforce management system. You are highly organised with clear prioritisation skills and are comfortable working with strict deadlines. You accomplish goals, complete tasks, and achieve results in a timely and accurate way. You demonstrate a passion for finding better ways and identifying improvements. You have highly developed communication skills with the ability to influence others. You are proficient in Microsoft office tools, with an intermediate to advanced level of Excel skills. You are able to work both independently and as a team, showing initiative to work in a flexible manner to manage workload.

About this work area

As a Workforce Planning Specialist your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Implementing the people planning strategy at a unit level, following principles/ guidelines as localised by the Country People and Culture Team.
• Managing the full function of the store staffing optimisation process from forecasting to the execution of the schedule by posting schedules in a timely manner.
• Ensuring adherence to IKEA’s employment standards and legal requirements relating to People Planning.
• Collaborating with the Unit’s & wider People & Culture recruiting team to ensure vacancies are filled with the appropriate contract and availability to ensure the best possible customer meeting.
• Identifying possible improvements in the unit people planning process and escalate any potential deviation when the scheduled or actual hours exceed the agreed financial framework.

To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a workforce planning or equivalent role. In a large format retail, hospitality, healthcare or warehousing organisation.
• Proven experience seeking out ways to increase business growth through workforce planning, securing efficient and productive people resources, whilst ensuring responsible staffing costs.
• Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.

What you need to know
• This role is permanent full time.
• The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park and external warehouse.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 1 weekend shift per month (both Saturday and Sunday), once IKEA Sylvia Park is open.
• Internal the job title for this role is Unit People Planning Specialist.
