    We are excited to announce an opening for a Product Requirement Engineer to join our fantastic engineering team in Range Area Home organization.  

    A Range Area where we want to support our customers organizing their stuff by providing functional and beautiful small lifesaver products that makes their every day, just a little bit easier. The specific range you will be working with consists of Wall organizers, Boards, Hooks and Laundry solutions to mention some which gives a great opportunity of working with lots of different materials, production techniques and customer user cases.

    As Product Requirement Engineer you will work in the product development team as the technical expert. You will transfer customer needs into product requirements by teaming up with Requirement specialists as well as various engineers from our different Purchasing organizations and Development centers around the globe – to secure successful implementation of our products in all markets. 

    This role requires strong self-motivation and leadership, a keen sense of structure and organization as well as a technical/engineering foundation from studies or from equivalent work experience. You will have to apply good knowledge of IKEA specifications, product development requirements, production & process knowledge, standards, and test methods relevant to the product areas you are responsible for. 

     

    In this assignment your main responsibilities will be: 

    • To develop product requirements for safe, functional, sustainable and cost-efficient products.  

    • Overall responsibility for the product documentation and compliance. 

    • Be a speaking partner and have a strong sense of obligation for all engineering related topics in the product development team.  

    • Develop durability and functional tests that resemble real life usage over the lifetime of the product.  

    • Responsible for communicating technical requirements/test methods to stakeholders e.g., product development team, engineers from purchasing organizations and test labs. 

    • Responsible for identifying applicable requirements and developing customer-based requirements. 

    • Some occasional travel and supplier visits may be required for the role. 

     

     


    Qualification

    We believe that you have: 

    • A university degree within the field of engineering or equivalent years of experience from working with engineering and technical tasks within product development.  

    • Proven ability to take charge and drive initiatives from start to finish.  

    • Highly analytical, with strong sense of coordination, organization, and self-leadership.  

    • Passion about sharing knowledge and simplifying complex issues for others.  

    • Skilled in building networks and working effectively in teams, with a talent for involving and engaging team members to achieve results.  

    You will collaborate with a wide variety of experts and stakeholders to identify and develop relevant product requirements that in the end safeguards that IKEA develops products that we and our customers love. 


    More Information

    The position is in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day. Presence at the office is required.
