Additional Information:
• This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
• This role is based on-site at IKEA Springvale, VIC 3171.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts (from 8:00am to 10:00pm).
• You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates, including a National Police Check.
• You will be required to have or obtain a security license if successful for this role.

About this work area

As ​a Safety and Security Manager​ you will lead the safety, security, and crisis management of expertise to ensure a holistic and proactive approach. Ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and treated and that our co-workers, customers, and assets are protected from preventable loss, injury, or illness.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Creating a safe & security culture by developing leadership and a conscious approach in identifying and implementing systems to detect, analyse and reduce business loss, financial impact, incidents and accidents.
• Business partnering with the unit management team to guide and support all risk and compliance measures and ensuring best practice safety systems and processes are secured.
• Monitoring internal and external IKEA related incidents, closing the loop on incident reporting, and taking a risk-based approach with focus on ‘safety meeting commerciality’.
• Plan for and ensure that emergency management trainings and ways of working are in place in accordance with the emergency management method, plans and protocols to ensure all involved know their responsibilities.
• Ensure coordination with the unit's Emergency Response Team to manage emergency cases and provide appropriate action according to the IKEA Emergency Response rules.
• Actively work together with the Country Safety & Security Leader to ensure all IKEA standards, risk management frameworks, and legal requirements are met.
• First point of contact for any out of hours Safety & Security incidents/escalations. This role will require you to be on call.



As a Safety and Security Manager you are or have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Safety & Security Manager or equivalent role.
• An inspirational leader who can energise, motivate, and lead your team of dedicated co-workers to provide a safe and secure environment for our customers and co-workers.
• Experience in providing operational and strategic workplace health and safety advice, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills, with the proven ability to manage complex and competing priorities.
• Proven experience in leading complex and business critical topics through people with excellent stakeholder management abilities.
• Confident in communicating, engaging, and building robust relationships with stakeholders and influence decisions to positively contribute to creating a safe, secure and compliant customer and co-worker experience.
