The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. We do this by offering a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible can afford them. We operate in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand – and have an ambitious expansion plan to bring a little bit of Sweden to new markets in the region. We are part of the Ikano Group of companies and the only IKEA franchisee owned by the Kamprad family that founded IKEA.
We also develop, own and operate Shopping Centres that are anchored by IKEA and create walkable communities by including residential, office and other types of real estate in our development plans.
We work towards making sustainability a natural part of our everyday work. We are active in our communities, driving and supporting social initiatives that benefit children, women and the environment.
The Business Controller function is critical to the Retail business as its purpose is to navigate the growth of IKEA and steer the business towards a sustained long term profitability. You will need to analyse what moves the performance in the different dimensions of the business and consequently recommend improvements in close cooperation with the different stakeholders in the organisation. These improvements concern both short term actions as also new tactics in our strategic planning. You support the management in setting commercial, finan-cial and operational targets and then securing adequate reporting. You actively look for efficient working meth-ods. As part of your role, you need to develop the competence of the business navigation managers in the IKEA stores.
You are someone with more than 5 years of experience in management accounting and commercial/financial reporting with proven strong analytical and numerical skills. You will play a key role in the budgeting and fore-casting process.
A key aspect of the role is to ensure the IKEA business performance commentaries are delivered to relevant stakeholders in a timely and concise manner. You possess good communication and presentation skills.
You have a degree in Business or related field, and have the ability to simplify complex financial information (i.e. Revenue, COGS, Operating cost, Balance Sheet) into a structured way. IKEA experience is preferred but not essential. Good Proficiency in Microsoft office a must. Having worked in a regional capacity would be ideal.
