What you'll be doing day to day

As a Data Engineer, you play a pivotal role in the design, development, and operation of digital products. You will be part of the full product development process in digital product teams, from understanding the problem, through designing the solution by quick prototyping, then delivering and running our services in production.

You will be a part of the D&ML Remote Meeting Points Domain team, which handles most of the solutions used by our customer support centres globally – including our communication platform, AI-powered chatbot, coworker copilots and coaching tools, knowledge management, case & returns management, self-service solutions. We have a lot of data, and an important part of our work is using this data to improve IKEAs products and services. 

We are one of the leading teams in creating the Ingka Data Platform, building necessary components on e.g. data contracts, data lineage, metadata management, monitoring, quality. We work almost exclusively with GCP as cloud provider, using tools such as dbt, Dataform, Terraform, Github, etc.

You are excited about Data and understand the crucial importance of state-of-the-art Data Products to enable Insights, AI and Generative AI capabilities, and working in cross-functional, autonomous, DevOps-minded product teams with a global reach and stakeholder from across the world. You want to be part of shaping the future of AI at IKEA - to dream big, build small and think smartly!

We would love to talk with you if you recognize yourself in some of the following:

Previous experience as a Data Engineer and Cloud Backend Engineer.
Knowledge in developing and deploying data pipelines.
Knowledge of cloud-based services, in particular Google Cloud platform as well as tools such as dbt, DataForm, Terraform.
Knowledge of programming languages (in particular python), including concepts from functional and object-oriented programming paradigms.
A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with BI developers, Data Scientists and Analysts, Product Owners, Software Engineers, and loves sharing knowledge.
A curious world class problem solver who wants to keep learning!
