We are a team of about 50 colleagues who work across the Cooking & Eating business. Together we focus on developing an excellent cooking & eating offer to enable a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable life around food. For the many people and always with the low price in mind.
We are now looking for a Product Requirement Engineer who can translate customer’s wishes into technical requirements. You will be responsible to identify and develop product requirements that will make products safe, loved by our customers and sellable on all our markets.
Job description
Please note that this is a temporary position for 12 months.
As Product Requirement Engineer you will work in the product development team as the requirement specialist. You will create strong relationship with Requirement development department as well as engineers from purchasing organization to secure understanding of the product requirements and successful implementation.
You will have good knowledge into IKEA specifications, production, standards, and test methods relevant for the product areas you are responsible for.
In this assignment your main responsibilities will be:
- Take part in product development and product improvement projects
- Develop product requirements for qualitative, sustainable, safe and functional products
- Develop durability and functional tests that resembles real life usage over the lifetime of the product
- Secure compliance for the range on all market
- Create product documentation
- Responsible to communicate technical requirements/test methods to stakeholders e.g. product development team, engineers from Purchasing organization and Test labs.
Qualification
You probably have a University Degree in engineering or similar experience together with a couple of years of experience from working with product development and/or product requirements. You are experienced with the ability to lead yourself, take great responsibility and drive initiatives from start to finish. Preferably you have experience working with food contact requirements.
You have good analytical skills and high ability to coordinate, lead and inspire others. You have a passion for sharing knowledge and the ability to explain complex matters in an easy way. You are good at creating your own network and at working in teams, making things happen by involving and engaging people. For this position we highly value great communication skills and the ability to lead yourself to make things happen.

The position is a temporary 12 month contract and placed in Älmhult. We believe that your presence with the team and working majority of the time in the workplace is important
