    Your responsibilities

    As the Fulfilment Manager for IKEA Tempe, you will take direct responsibility for a customer-centric and high-performing fulfilment operation spanning inbound & outbound fulfilment streams. As part of the unit management team, you will lead, steer, plan, and develop the organisation while ensuring seamless integration across all fulfilment streams and identifying cost optimisation opportunities. You are a performance-driven, solution-oriented leader with a broad interest in developing the business, someone who:
    • Strategically drives the Customer Fulfilment part of the unit commercial and growth agenda, inspiring the fulfilment team to actively contribute to achieving business goals.
    • Oversees all unit fulfilment streams, including inbound, outbound (incorporating click and collect and home delivery), and supply & flow planning, ensuring seamless coordination, consistent quality, and a unified customer experience across every touchpoint.
    • Secures operational excellence within fulfilment operations by prioritising retail foundation, services execution, quality, and productivity improvements as well as cost optimisation, in line with the Country Business Plan and Commercial Direction.
    • Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing fulfilment team through proactively managing performance, competence development, and succession planning, whilst ensuring a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion within the function.
    • Secures high customer satisfaction within the omnichannel scope for goods availability, sustainability, and customer order fulfilment in the most cost-conscious way, actively monitoring, analysing & improving customer & brand metrics.
    • Ensures high co-worker satisfaction within the fulfilment function by actively monitoring engagement feedback and driving meaningful improvements through the unit action plan.
    • Creates and maintains a safe and secure working environment and secures compliance aligned to relevant Standard Operating Procedures through the implementation of new operational processes, technologies, and ways of working.



    You are a passionate and highly motivated individual with a genuine commitment to people and a sharp eye for business performance. You bring a strong background in fulfilment operations, with hands-on experience across inbound, outbound, click and collect, and home delivery, and the leadership capability to integrate these functions into a high-performing, seamless operation. You thrive in dynamic environments that blend strategic thinking with practical, hands-on action, and you hold yourself and your team to the highest standards. You bring comprehensive knowledge of operational excellence, commercial growth strategy, financial planning, KPI management, and supply chain leadership. With a deep understanding of change management, omnichannel retail, and situational leadership, you excel at inspiring performance, cultivating a positive workplace culture, and delivering results at pace. To be considered for this role you will have:
    • A university degree in Economics, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience and proven performance in logistics, commercial, or supply chain management.
    • Three to five years of working experience in a management position, preferably within distribution, retail, logistics, or a similar fast-paced environment.
    • A proven ability to inspire and engage others, with a demonstrated record of strategic leadership in a changing and complex environment.
    • Confident and clear communication skills, with experience working through others, setting priorities, delegating responsibility, and providing open and honest feedback.
    • Experience as a management team member with a proven ability to positively influence the business both directly and through strong cross-functional collaboration.
    • Analytical skills to understand budgets, costs, and key performance measurements used to plan, follow up, and steer the business, with a proven record of meeting agreed budgets and goals.

    Additional information

    • Contract type: Permanent, full time 76 hours per/fortnight.
    • Role location: Role is based at IKEA Tempe, Sydney, Australia.
    • As our store operates seven days a week, you must be available to work a rotating roster that includes a mix of day and evening shifts, with the latest shift finishing at approximately 21:30. As part of this role, you will also be required to act as Duty Manager when rostered. Availability to work one in every three weekends, including both Saturdays and Sundays, is essential.
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates. If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
